Author's note, What makes a stamp rare, while the CSA #1 was issued as the normal issue stamp, you as a collector have to realize that only a portion of the US used this stamp and only for a very short time. The connotation of the civil war may not be of interest to many, it does represent part of our historical past (shaded as it may be).

In comparison the Scott #65 was issued probably 10,000 to 1 of the Scott CSA #1 #65 issued to the Union states and CSA #1 issued to confederate states.
