Haiti Trial Color Proof Olive Green of #40 in a Block of 25, No Gum As Issued

A very scarce trial color proof block of 25 of Scott Catalog #40 on stamped paper. There is no gum as issued. The color is approximately olive green. The issued color of #40 was lilac brown.

There appears to be some light soiling in a few places on the face of the block. These are #40 trial proofs as the height of the stamp is 23.5 mm and not taller.
